Unforgettable Trip to the Dominican Republic, A Paradise Found

Family first. Friends forever.

We just returned from a fabulous trip to the Dominican Republic. From that beautiful Caribbean turquoise water to fabulous ocean breezes, our time in Cap Cana was more than we anticipated.

We stayed at Sanctuary Cap Cana. Since Cap Cana is a gated community in Punta Cana, it felt like we had a little slice of paradise all to ourselves.

My favorite things about this spot were the beautiful lounging spaces that were everywhere. If you needed to sit and watch the sunrise, just walk right out of your room. Want to enjoy a coffee from the cafe while seeing the water, just find the nearest lounger. Want to be by the pool but still enjoy some shade, find one of the pods sprinkled everywhere. Want infinity pool with a view of water for miles, visit the Castle pool. The list goes on and on. Just look.

The food was spot on. Our butler, Joan, helped get us a table for each restaurant, so we did not have to wait. Only two places took a reservation. Joan and the entire staff were fabulous. We felt like a part of this resort family each place we went.

The options in Sanctuary Town were incredible. The sushi and wood-fired pizza pictures make me miss it so much!

Let me just say, it had been a while since I visited an all-inclusive resort. Robert has never been to one! Sanctuary spoiled us. I want to go back immediately! Forget going back to school. Ha! If you haven't done an AI, then let me encourage you to do it. Just one time and you will be hooked.

This was our castle pool. This was only available for castle members, and we loved ending each day here for a couple of hours.

We spent most of the week thinking that pier structure was a restaurant. It's not. It's a beautiful event and leisure space. Had we discovered that sooner, we would have hung out there more. It was beautiful to sit there and enjoy the view.
